Dr. George O’Mahony ...

George qualified as a Doctor in 1984. After qualifying George worked as a hospital doctor, gaining extensive experience in the South Infirmary Hospital and Bons Secours Hospital.

After 4 years intensive hospital practice, George worked as a General Practitioner in Ballincollig and Knocknaheeney for over 20 years. Due to the expansion of the practice in Harbour View Road, it was decided to centralise his practice to one enhanced medical center where his Ballincollig and Knocknaheeney patients now attend.

Interested in sports medicine with specialist knowledge of sports injury treatment, George and was team doctor to Cork city in 1980s and was selected to act as medical advisor to Cork city FC on a trip to ASIA. He retains a strong interest in sports injuries and sports medicine.

George is committed to service excellence in the community and was a founding member of Cork City cell of south doc, which provides mobile out of hours care throughout the area.

Together with practice partner Nick Flynn, George is involved in undergraduate training of medical students with UCC, a role which ensures that the practice is at the leading edge of developments in medical care.

George has a larger than life personality as is witnessed on a daily basis in the surgery and vouched for by all his patients!
